Khaled Nabi apostle in era betw Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed (s)

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Khaled Nabi was an Apostle who lived in the era between Jesus Christ (a) and Prophet Mohammed (s), and like Prophet Mohammed (s) he was a descendant of Prophet Ismail (a).

Allah says in the Holy Quran, And indeed We have raised in every people a messenger (saying): “Serve Allah and avoid all false deities.” So among them is he who Allah has guided, and among them is he upon whom the straying was justified. So go about in the earth and see how was the end of those who denied (our revelations).
An Nahl: 36

Khaled Nabi was an Apostle who lived in the era between Jesus Christ (a) and Prophet Mohammed (s), and like Prophet Mohammed (s) he was a descendant of Prophet Ismail (a). He was an Arab born in Yemen and belonged to the Banu Abas Tribe. He lived 56 years before the birth of the Holy Prophet (s).

The general belief is that there was no Prophet in that period, but then Imam Ali (a) says that, ‘Most of the truth lies in that which you do not know.” The truth is that there have been hundreds of Apostolic personalities who have been sent to different nations for guidance in that period. They are often referred to by different terms like Prophets, Apostles, Auliyas, Ausiyas, Hujjatullahs. As far as Khaled Nabi (a) is concerned he invited people to the original teachings of Jesus Christ (a) and to worship just One God.

There are many narrations related to him. It has been recorded that Prophet Mohammed (s), one day, mentioned the legend of Khaled Nabi (a) to his companions saying that migration or hijrat has always been the way of the Prophets. Apostles like Adam, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Jonah, Elias, Khizr, Jarjiz and Khaled Nabi, they all migrated and like them the Holy Prophet (s) himself had migrated during the last epoch of time. These migrations were important at some point in their lives in order to guide the people and spread the message of divinity.

In another narration, an old woman named Muhayat once came to meet Prophet Mohammed (s). He made her sit beside him and put his cloak around her. Then he turned to his companions and said that she was the descendant of a Prophet martyred by his community whose name was Khaled bin Sinan. Apart from her, Lady Aliya, the mother of Muslim bin Aqil is also said to be a descendant of Khaled Nabi (a).

His name even features among the 44 Prophetic and Apostolic personalities whom Imam Jafar Sadiq (a) has sent blessings upon in the famous Doa, Aamaal-e-Umme Dawood. The late Iranian scholar Agha Sayyed Ali Shahrestani says that the Khaled mentioned herein refers to none other than Khaled Nabi (a) of Turkmenistan.

His Shrine is located in the stunning Gokchen Dagh Hills of Golestan Province on the Iran and Turkmenistan border. It is a 64kms drive from Gonbad-e-Kavous city with the nearest airport being Gorgan. The place is a treat for the eyes and a retreat for the soul.
