At least 15 civilians, including women and children, were killed and several others injured when Saudi fighter jets launched a fresh round of airstrikes against various areas in Yemen as Riyadh pushed ahead with its atrocious onslaught against its impoverished southern neighbor.

Saudi military aircraft conducted attacks against a residential area in Sarwah district of Yemen’s central province of Ma'rib, situated approximately 120 kilometers (74 miles) east of the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, on Monday. Nine members of a family lost their lives and three others sustained injuries.

Six civilians, among them two women and three children, were also killed as Saudi warplanes struck Shibam Kawkaban district in the western Yemeni province of al-Mahwit, situated 53 kilometers (29 miles) northwest of of Sana’a.

Moreover, Saudi jets carried out more than twenty aerial attacks against Sahar and Majz districts of Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada, though there were no immediate reports of casualties and the extent of the damage inflicted.

Separately, a number of Saudi soldiers were killed or injured when Yemeni army troopers backed by fighters from allied popular committees fired rockets at al-Rabou'ah military camp in the kingdom’s oil-rich region of Dhahran.

On Sunday, at least three people, including a child, lost their lives when Saudi fighter jets bombarded Fallah district in Yemen's northwestern province of Sa’ada.

There were no reports on the number of those injured in the airborne attack, and the extent of the damage inflicted.

Earlier in the day, Saudi warplanes had struck a residential area in Saqin district of the same province, razing two schools to the ground. A woman also sustained injuries.

UN Human Rights spokesman Rupert Colville said on June 16 that at least 1,412 Yemeni civilians, including 210 women, had been killed and a further 3,423 injured since the start of the Saudi aggression on March 26.
