On the occasion of Imam Muhammad Baqir,s (AS) martyrdom, Spending time in the words of Imam Baqir (AS) has been taken from the book “Interpretation and description of Sahife Sajjadieh”, vol 1, written by professor Hussein Ansarian.
Hazrat Baqir peace be upon him says:
The commander of faithful, Imam Ali peace be upon him said his evening and night prayers in the Mosque of Kufa, then he called the people three times, as they all heard.
تَجَهَّزُوا- رَحِمَكُمُ اللَّهُ- فَقَدْ نُودىَ فيكُمْ بِالرَّحيلِ، فَمَا التَّعَرُّجُ عَلَى الدُّنْيا بَعْدَ النِّداءِ فيها بِالرَّحيلِ!
تَجَهَّزُوا- رَحِمَكُمُ اللَّهُ- وانْتَقِلُوا بِأفْضَلِ ما بِحَضْرَتِكُمْ مِنَ الزّادِ وَهُوَ التَّقْوى . وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ طريقَكُمْ إلىَ الْمَعادِ، وَمَمَرَّكُمْ عَلَى الصِّراطِ وَالْهَوْلَ الْأعْظَمَ أمامُكُمْ؛ وَعَلى طَريقِكُمْ عَقَبَةٌ كَئُودٍ وَمَنازِلُ مَهُولَةٌ مَخُوفَةٌ، لابُدَّ لَكُمْ مِنَ الْمَمَرِّ عَلَيْها وَالْوُقُوفِ بِها؛ فَإمّا بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ، فَنجَاةٌ مِنْ هَوْلِها وَعَظِيمِ خَطَرِها وَفَظاعَةِ مَنْظَرِها وَشِدَّةِ مُخْتَبَرِها؛ وَإمّا بِهَلَكَةٍ لَيْسَ بَعْدَهَا نَجاةٌ. «1»
May Allah,s blessings be upon you all, be equipped and ready for the travel to hereafter that you are all called upon for that eternal abode and you are all invited to travel to that world, then After this invitation, what is the stop and intention of your stay for? Your life demonstrates as if you have been invited to hereafter.
May Allah Almighty bless you all, get ready take the best of things with you for the hereafter and that best thing is nothing but piety.
Be aware that you are headed toward another world, and you have to pass from Serat, a great fear is waiting you, a rough abode is ahead of you, there are horrifying and scary stages ahead of you that you are obliged to pass them, it is only in the shadow of his mercy that you will be saved from all those frightening and horrible houses, and this mercy will not be obtained except by faith and good deed, if you spend your time in ignorance you are doomed to failure and there is no way out for you.
