(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The specialized conference on 'Ghadir in Sunnis' Viewpoint", one of the special conferences of 'Ghadir, the Harbinger of Wilayat and Deepening the Insight', was held in the Razavi Holy Shrine with presence of scholars and researchers."
Ayatollah Tohidi said in this conference, "All Muslims including Shiites and Sunnis agree on the necessity of loving Amir al-Mou'menin (Imam Ali A.S.) and accepting his virtues. He also stated, "All Muslims accept Imam Ali (A.S.) as the Caliph of Muslims, so there are many shared items about him among different Islamic creeds."
Stating that talking about Imamate is not in opposition with the Islamic unity, he said, "These issues on which Muslims have disagreement must be talked about with respectful words in scientific circles and definitely such a behavior prevent us from disunity."
This Seminary Professor said, "Nowadays, all Muslim groups accept Imam Ali's (A.S.) personality and friendship and honor him; therefore he must be introduced more to the world's people."
Pointing to some opinions according to which talking about the issue of Imamate and Caliphate turns back to the past and is not so much important nowadays and no problem will be solved by talking about it, this religious expert stated, "the issue of Imamate and Caliphate is not a historical issue. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) introduced one divine religion to the world and this unique religion was offered with two models in the Islamic society."
He asserted, "The root of some problems between Sunnis and Shiites in issues such as taking ablution (Wozu), saying prayer, inherit, marriage issues, etc. are because of not accepting Islam from the viewpoint of Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) by some Muslims."
There is No Doubt in the Essence of Ghadir Tradition
In another part of his speech, he said, "The tradition of Ghadir is one of those traditions the frequencies of which have been affirmed by Sunni scholars and scientists of Rijal and tradition science; therefore, there is no doubt in its issue."
Tohidi added, "The purpose of God's prophet (Muhammad) from the sentence of 'Whoever I am his Master, This Ali is his Master from Now on" has been the place of hot and fundamental debates between historians, Hadith narrators, and Shiite and Sunni scholars from two different points of view: if it is merely about love and affection toward Imam Ali (A.S.) or because of his Imamate and Wilayat."
The lecturer of the specialized conference of "Ghadir in Sunnis' Viewpoint" stated, "Shiites follow the holy family of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) and believe that the holy prophet (S.A.W.) had the mission to communicate Imamate and Wilayat of Imam Ali (A.S.) to all Muslims. The prophet, based on his duty, did this important task with the most obvious and clear words."
"Shiites believe that the direction of the leadership of Islamic Umah (nation) has been determined in Ghadir and after prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), the immaculate interpreter of the glorious Qur'an, the prophet's tradition must be learned from Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.)", he asserted.
