The Beauties of Ashura: The Most Beautiful Words

Great people of old days usually gave others advices about financial matters or about religious practices. Imam Hussein’s words to his brother, Muhammad ibne Hanafiyah; have special beauties, as they contain both the goals and the main ideals of his battle, and an respectful request from people to help the warriors of truth.

“I strongly believe in God, and I believe that He is One and there are no other gods,”‌ said he, to his brother Muhammad ibne Hanafiyah. “I believe that Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the prophet of God and that he has brought us the truth from God. I believe in the Heaven and in the Hell and I know that it will come a Day, when God will bring revive the dead.”‌

“I am not leaving just to make troubles or just to show off or amuse myself”‌, He continued. I am going, just to walk in the path of my grandfather, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I am going to invite people to what is good and to prohibit them from what is bad (commandment of good and prohibition of evil), just the way my grandfather and my father, Ali bin Abi-Talib, used to do. I will offer people the truth and if they do not accept, I will wait until it is time for God’s judgment, as God is the best Judge. These, brother, are my words to you. I trust in God and I ask him to forgive my sins…”‌
Imam Hussein says that his goals are to revive the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and those of Imam Ali (AS), and to invite people to what is good and to prohibit them from what is bad.

He also denies these accusations: 1. To make a chaos and to make troubles, 2. To oppress the people, and, 3. To show off and to amuse himself.

He has also emphasized on his belief in God, in Prophet Muhammad, and in the Heaven and the Hell in the beginning of his statements, so that no one could baselessly accuse him of not having faith.
