Human beings are neglectful because the world’s ornaments, own desires and satanic temptations are so strong and deceitful which make them to forget what is happening around them. Allah (SWT) in many of the holy verses of the Quran warns human beings especially disbelievers that they are trapped in the ornaments of the world and as a result they are neglectful of the hereafter.
One example is Ayah 212 of Surah Al-Baqarah: “The life of this world has attracted those who disbelieve. They ridicule those who believe, yet those who are righteous will stand ahead of them on the Day of Resurrection; Allah (SWT) provides according to Divine Will for anyone without measure.” Other holy verses, like Ayah 14 of Surah Al-e-Imran and others warn human beings about neglecting the hereafter.
