When Moawiyah asked Ahnaf ibn Qais about Imam Ali (AS), he replied: Imam Ali (AS) practiced three deeds and avoided three other deeds. When he spoke, used to captivate the hearts of the audience. When others spoke, he used to listen attentively. When others disagreed with him, he used to choose the simplest way. He did not engage in quarrel and dispute. He used to stay away from ignorant individuals, and did not do any deed which forced him to apologise for it later on [1].
