the Night of Measures (Shabe- Ghadr)

the Night of Measures (Shabe- Ghadr)

Professor Ansarian:

The night of power or the Night of Measures (Shabe- Ghadr) is the most mysterious night throughout history that pens are broken in describing it, tongues fall short of description and the intellect remains stunned and puzzled in understanding it, it is a night which is considered the heart of Ramadan according to Sadiq (AS)

The night of power (Shabe- Ghadr) is the best night of the year because Allah Almighty considered this night in the Holy Quran better than thousands nights. The night of power (Shabe- Ghadr) means a great and glorious night, in the Holy Quran Ghadr is referred to as the dignity of Allah. The destinies of creatures and people are determined in this night. As Imam Reza (A.S) said: Allah Almighty determine and destine whatsoever is going to happen in the upcoming year, these things that are determined by Allah in this night can be death, life, and everything. So whatever is destined in this night by Allah is bound to occur.

The night of power or the Night of Measures (Shabe- Ghadr) is hidden and the exact time of it is not known. The reason why this great night is hidden is said by Imam Ali (A.S), he believes this night is hidden so that the believers value more nights and perform greater deeds and worship a lot while avoid the sins and evils in order to realize and understand the virtue of this great night.
