The fact that God,The Almighty, never let men go astray and never let them stay alone is a apart of every single believer. This fact is well-established by Professor Hossein Ansarian in his geat work “ the land of lovers” which is an exposition on Sahifeh Sajadieh.
From his birth in this world until his departure, man is constantly confronted with all sorts of dangers and hazards which could easily destroy man if he is not watchful.
Protecting our divine nature is only possible if we could adopt positive and proper mannerisms. In this regard we have to put ourselves at the mercy of God's demands and be constantly watchful against the shaitans and evil-doers.
Shaitan and his nasty army, which are the ignorant ones, would not show any mercy upon us and they see their comfort in destroying our good mannerisms and good deeds and providing for our fall in the hell. Shaitan and its assistants are the sworn enemies of man which have determined to strike man from every angle.
God, in His turn, has warned Shaitan and his followers that they would never dominate man-kind; the only thing these devels could do is to seduce and to allure human beings.
If we could, through the instructions of the Holy Quran, convince ourselves that Shaitan and its associates could do nothing more than showing us their hatred, jealousy and enemity and that their objective is to cut us from the truth and facts, and that the only salvation for us remains in believing in God and in the Resurrection, in angels and the Book, in Nobovvat and Imamate, and in the avoidance of all mischiefs, we would then benefit from God's protection.
The Holy Quran warns us against the Shaitan's merciless and savage attacks from every angle.
قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِهِمْ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِينَ قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَدْحُورًا لَمَنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ [1]
He said: As thou hast caused me to remain disappointed I will certainly lie in wait for them in their straight path. Then I will certainly come to them from before them and from behind them, and from their right-hand side and from their left-hand side; and thou shalt not find most of them thankful. He said: Get out of this state, despised, driven away; whoever of them will follow you, I will certainly fill hell with you all.
Imam Baqir(s), in explaining the above verse, has the following comment:
“مِنْ بَيْنِ أيْدِيهِم” مَعْناهُ: اُهَوِّنُ عَلَيْهِمْ أمْرَ الآخِرَةِ.
By the expression “from before them”, Shaitan intends to underestimate the Hereafter in mankind's eyes.
“مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ” آمُرُهُمْ بِجَمْعِ الأمْوالِ وَالْبُخْلِ بِها عَنِ الْحُقُوقِ لِتَبْقى لِوَرَثَتِهِم.
And by the expression “from behind”, Shaitan intends to seduce men to collect possessions and to engage in greedy and jealous behaviors so that they pass away with no provision for the Hereafter, leaving behind the passions for the heirs.
“عَنْ أيْمانِهِمْ” اُفْسِدُ عَلَيْهِمْ أمْرَ دِينِهِمْ بِتَزْيينِ الضَّلالَةِ وَتَحْسِينِ الشُّبْهَةِ.
By “from their right-hand side” Shaitan intends to ruin the believer's conviction by seducing him to take corruption for the right thing.
“عَنْ شَمائِلِهِمْ” بِتَحْبِيبِ اللَّذّاتِ إلَيْهِمْ وَتَغْلِيبِ الشَّهَواتِ عَلى قُلُوبِهِمْ.
And by the use of “from their left-hand side” Shaitan intends to let man enjoy the wrong pleasures and get dominated by the lusts.
