Swiss Student Converts to Islam at Shiite Holy Shrine in Iran

A young Swiss Christian student has converted to Islam and became a Shia Muslim during his visit to the holy shrine of Shah-e Cheragh in this southwestern provincial capital city, it was reported on Wednesday.

A young Swiss Christian student has converted to Islam and became a Shia Muslim during his visit to the holy shrine of Shah-e Cheragh in this southwestern provincial capital city, it was reported on Wednesday.

Getting familiar with the fundamental principles of Islam, the European student, who asked for remaining anonymous, converted to Islam after reciting the 'Shahadatain' (i.e. acknowledging that there is no god but Allah and Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is His servant and Prophet).

The young Swiss student has converted to Islam in the presence of Chief Custodian and Trustee of the Shah-e Cheragh Mousque Ayatollah Ali Asghar Dastgheyb who presented a translation of the Holy Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya and some other books to the European him.

Referring to Supreme Leader's letters to the European youth, Ayatollah Dastgheb said the letters played a great role in spreading Islam as they have been written by the Leader in due time.

Ayatollah Khamenei sent two letters to the youth in Europe and North America, urging them to study about Islam and to get firsthand information about it before accepting their governments’ propaganda.
