Japanese Ambassador visits Imam Hussain Holy Shrine

The Museum of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has gifted a replica of a rare textile piece, discovered in Karbala by the 1977 Japanese mission, to the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq.

Director of Museum Alaa al-Deen stated, “This rare piece of textile was discovered by the Japanese mission at al-Tar Caves, and is considered one of the oldest textiles in the world,” pointing out that the actual relic is displayed at the Iraqi National Museum.

Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Fumio Iwai visited the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein on January 26 and was gifted this special present in remembrance of the great effort of the Japanese mission at the time.
