The main thing for the popular revolutions in the region is to safeguard the achievements of the Islamic awakening, Supreme Leader’s advisor in international affairs said.
Dr Ali Akbar Velayati was addressing the Fifth General Assembly of the Islamic Radios and Televisions Union today, September 26.
He stressed that the achievements of the Islamic awakening should be upheld prudently.
Noting that propagation is the major means for promoting cultural aims, he urged the Islamic media to spare no efforts to convey the voice of the nations’ awakening to the world and stand against the west’s onslaught. “Without the help of media people, the voice of nations would not get anywhere,” he added.
Dr Velayati called on the officials of Islamic Radios and Televisions Union to form a think tank in the union, properly cover the news and activities of the Islamic world, and thwart the enemies’ efforts to boycott or exaggerate the news based on their interests.
The Fifth General Assembly of the Islamic Radios and Televisions Union kicked off in Tehran today with the motto of “Islamic Media, Voice of Justice and Awakening”. The event will run for three days.
