More than 7,000 supporters of Iranian compliance with the hijab – the rules of appearance for Muslim women – held simultaneously in several cities in Iran’s march for the preservation of Islamic tradition in women’s clothing, said on Wednesday, news agency Fars.
In addition to the capital of Iran, Tehran’s march took place simultaneously in the cities of Mashhad, Urmia, Sari and Ray. In the march was attended by students of the schools, large schools of Iran, the cultural workers of public institutions, as well as representatives of women’s division of forces of the national militia, the Basij, which is part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) – an elite unit of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic.
According to Fars, the participants in the march carried banners with slogans in support of compliance with the Muslim hijab, including those in Western countries, which violated the rights of Muslims and forbids the observance of hijab and other Islamic traditions.
According to the participants of the march, the idea of exercise is to show – as a modern Iranian youth, which dominates over the propaganda of the Western lifestyle and Western countries – the need to respect Islamic foundations , reported Fars.
