--The policy making council of the first international congress of Islamic world’s publications held a meeting this morning.
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Sayyed Mohammad Hosseini, secretary general of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Taskhiri, head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mehdi Mostafavi, education and research deputy of the Foreign Ministry Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad and Culture Ministry’s cultural deputy Mohsen Parviz attended the meeting, whose agenda was to discuss ways for best holding the congress.
A permanent secretariat was decided to be set up for the congress so that the potentials of the Islamic world’s publications can be tapped to the full in order to develop science and culture based on religious and civilizational commonalities.
The first international congress of Islamic world’s publications is slated to be held in Tehran in May on the sidelines of Tehran international book fair.
According to secretary general of the congress Ali Zarei Najafdari, the congress is aimed at expanding professional relations among the Islamic world’s publications, updating the publication industry in the Islamic world and introducing the latest developments and advancements in the field.
