
Nat’l Quran Contest for Women Kicks off

-- The women’s section of the 32nd national Quran competition got underway in Mashhad this morning.
The opening ceremony featured a speech by Fatemeh Ghayur member of the Municipal Council of Mashhad. A number of cultural and administrtative officials were also present at the ceremony.
The contest is organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization. 80 entrants from 28 provinces compete in the four categories of Tahghigh and Tarteel recitation and memorization (two levels).
Azam Alvandi heads the jury panel of the competition, which is made up of ten Quran masters.
The women’s section of the contest will run until Thursday, February 25. The competition for teenagers had concluded last week.
