Ayatollah Khatami further rebuked the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1929, which was ratified under the pressure imposed by Western states, and without a consensus against Iran's peaceful nuclear plan, while adding that the Iranian nation has proved in the past 31 years that it does not leave the scene.
Tehran's interim Friday Prayers leader said that following the victory of Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation has turned sanctions into an opportunity and the new anti-Iran sanctions resolution will also set the stage for Iranian scientists to conquer the new pinnacles of science.
Referring to the failure of Washington's efforts to win the support of all UNSC member states for issuance of an anti-Iran resolution, Ayatollah Khatami noted that the US had begged Turkey and Brazil to try to solve Iran's nuclear issue and to exchange fuel. However, with the ratification of the anti-Iran resolution, the US turned its back on its request.
In further remarks, Ayatollah Khatami denounced the attack of Zionist regime's commandos on the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla throughout international waters, while adding that how come the US, which claims to support democracy, did not allow UNSC to issue a resolution against the usurper state of Israel.
Tehran's interim Friday Prayers leader underlined that the ratification of the anti-Iran resolution at UNSC showed that the world should be thinking of an independent United Nations.
