The plan was disclosed by the director of Youth and Sports Department, Hj Mohamad Panglima Asgar Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah during the finals of the National Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran held recently at the ministry.
He also expressed interests in further expanding facilities needed (to encourage) youths to read the Al-Quran more.
He said the introduction of the Quran Recital Scheme for youths was one of the department's efforts to improve the quality of the musabaqah in the future.
He also said that the department welcomed suggestions and views from all to ensure the objective of organising the competition would be organised successfully.
No further details yet on how this scheme will be carried out. Meanwhile the ministry is making preparation for this year's National Youth Day celebration scheduled to be held in August 2.
Last year the celebration was postponed as a precautionary measure against the H1N1 outbreak.
In its place however, the ministry held an appreciation ceremony to commemorate Youth Day 2009 by having mass special prayers on July 31, 2009 at Kg Salambigar Mosque.
The National Youth Day celebrations is aimed to facilitate and show support for Bruneian youths to strive for a more active contribution to the country, be it through government or private agencies or by voluntary means.
Several events has been planned to commemorate the celebrations which includes, the Young Entrepreneurs Expo, National Youth Forum and Youth Run.
