18th Int’l Quran Exhibit opens in Tehran

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), TEHRAN, Iran -- The inaugural ceremony would be attended by Deputy minister of culture and Islamic guidance for the Quranic affairs, Hamid Mohammadi and Ayatollah Mahdavi-Kani.

The 18th International Quran Exhibit will open with the motto of ‘Quran, Book of Life’.

Some 500 cultural and Quranic programs will be held for different age groups concurrent with the exhibit.

Performing 16 street theaters, holding 160 poetry nights, showcasing 200 superb tableaux and organizing educational workshops are on the event’s agenda.

The event has some nine new sections for the first time, compared to the earlier events.

Some 25 countries are expected to attend the event. Some 343 Iranian and 15 foreign publishers are participating in the event.

The exhibit will open on August 8 and will continue until September 3.

The exhibit is the main cultural event in the capital during the fasting month of Ramadan, which is considered the ‘Spring of Quran’.

Quran is the holy book of divine guidance and direction for mankind. Muslims also consider the original Arabic verbal text to be the final revelation of God.

It was revealed gradually to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) during his prophethood, spanning some 23 years.

Muslims regard the holy book as the main miracle of the Great Prophet Mohammad, as the culmination of a series of divine messages.
