Role of Holy Quran in Muslims’ Life” Seminar Held in Turkey

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), According to İHA, the seminar was held on the occasion of naming 2010 as the year of the holy Quran and the 1400th year of its Revelation. Present at the seminar were Halil Çiçek, professor of theology in Ankara University; Faruk Arvas, SİİRT Province’s mufti; Suat Göztok, prayer leader of Bayazid Mosque in Istanbul; Musa Çolak, general governor of SİİRT Province; Seyfettin Aydın, deputy of SİİRT’s municipality, as well as a lot of scholars and citizens of the province.

The seminar began with Suat Göztok’s recitation of a few verses of the Quran followed by a speech by Halil Çiçek who referred to the world’s ignorance of Quran’s spiritual teachings and said, “We would definitely have a better world if people especially the followers of Islam acted based on the Quranic principles; Quran is so beautiful that it cannot be replaced by anything else.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said,“There are many scholars in the entire world who are studying the holy Quran from different perspectives, seeking to understand its deep beauty and this proves Quran’s utmost perfection.”

Speeches by other scholars present at the ceremony and awarding winners of cultural contests were among the other programs at the seminar.
