Ahlul Bayt News Agency, The contest for the 14th edition of Dubai International Holy Quran Award began Wednesday with the first batch of contestants making their appearance.
Five permanent juries sat in a row to evaluate the contestants who walked calm and confident onto the stage to unleash their skill in the momorisation of the entire verses of Holy Quran as it was revealed to the last prophet (PBUH).
Khalil Ibrahim from Libya, Abdul Hazim Bin Haji from Brunei and Luqman Abdel Rahman from Somalia made their presentations in the opening session.
In his inaugural address, Deputy Chairman of the organising committee Dr. Saeed Abdullah offered greetings to President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who founded the Award.
