Thirty Nominees For Royal Award For Islamic Finance

Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; KUALA LUMPUR -- Thirty individuals in Islamic finance from all over the world, being considered, for the inaugural Royal Award for Islamic Finance.

The award is spearheaded by the Malaysia Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC) and supported by Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission.

It will act as a benchmark recognition of the global Islamic Financial industry.

The award focuses on the individual's record of achievement and outstanding contribution towards the advancement of Islamic finance globally.

The nominees also include non-Muslims of both genders and from every sector including Shariah, academia, industry practitioners, Islamic finance institutions, government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The nominees are aged from 40 to over 80 years.

The nominations are being deliberated upon by an independent international jury, chaired by Tun Musa Hitam, a former of Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation.

The recipient will receive the award from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, during the Royal Gala Dinner and Award presentation on Oct 25 in Kuala Lumpur.
