Painters to hang works on Imam Ali (AS) in Tehran museum

 Paintings depicting characteristics of Imam Ali (AS) by renowned painters will go on display at Tehran’s Imam Ali (AS) Religious Arts Museum during an exhibition.

The paintings on themes of some characteristics of Imam Ali (AS) such as his justice and his charity will go on display at the showcase from November 24 to December 7.

The event will be held on the occasion of Id al-Ghadir, the day on which Imam Ali (AS) was appointed as successor to the Prophet Mohammad(S).

Sixty Artworks created by renowned artists including Aydin Aqdashlu, Ebrahim Haqiqi, Habibollah Sadeqj, Habibollah Ayatollahi and Abdolmajid Ghadirian will go on display alongside works created by foreign artists.

The Ahvaz Museum of Contemporary Art will also showcase 110 calligraphy artworks during an exhibition supported by the Imam Ali (AS) Religious Arts Museum from November 29 to January 8, 2011.

The café gallery of the museum will also host a photo exhibition by Parviz Amiri from November 23 to December 2.

“The museum is embellished with the name of Imam Ali (AS) and should introduce artists whose works highlights some aspect of Imam Ali (AS) to the society,” the museum curator Seyyed Jafar Bani-Hashemi mentioned in a press release.

The museum is located on Esfandiar Blvd., near the intersection with Vali-e Asr Ave. in northern Tehran
