The first volume of “Islam in Russia” monthly was published in Arabic with the aim of providing accurate information about Islam and Muslims in Russia.
According to Al-Kothar website, Riyadh Mostafa, Editor in Chief of the Islamic monthly said: “the magazine considers the internal affairs of Russia and investigates the main problems of Russian Muslims and activities of Muslim and Arab minorities residing in this country.”
“It has been published with the aim of addressing the educated generation and Arab elites who pay attention to the issues in Russia and its internal affairs and through the monthly they can get true and precise information about Islam and Muslims in Russia,” he added.
Regarding that the issue is addressing 200 thousand Muslim minorities in Russia, he stated that: “ the magazine tries to clarify the role of Arab citizens in Russia and their efforts to strengthen the relations between Russia and Arab countries.”
He stressed that various Russian Groups should cooperate in mutual understanding and proximity of different nations.
An Arab journalist, Mostafa Riyadh has lived in Russia for 20 years and works as a TV reporter and translator of some local and Arab media.
