Concurrent with the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, a national Quran competition will be held in the holy city of Mashhad, director of religious and Quranic affairs department of Basij Dar-ol-Quran announced.
Ehsan Ebrahim Nezhad affirmed: the three-day contest will be held for over 500 Quran reciters and memorizers of the country at three levels.
“International judges and Quran experts of the Dar-ol-Quran will supervise the competition to be held in the categories of recitation, Quranic concepts, and memorization of the entire Quran, 20 Juzes (parts) and 10 Juzes of the Quran,” he said.
Contrary to the previous years’ contests, this edition of the Quranic competition will be held only for male participants.
Jomhuri Islami Hall of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad will host the event from February 12 to 14.
