According to Jordanian news agency reporting from Manama, the Bahraini army and security forces tried to dislodge protesters from Lo Lo Square on Wednesday. This led to clashes between the pro-democracy protesters and security forces, resulting in the killing of 3 police officers.
One of the officers was run over by a vehicle.
Also on Wednesday, Saudi soldiers and Bahraini soldiers attacked the pro-democracy protesters who had staged a sit-in in Lo Lo Square, firing indiscriminately towards the protesters with live rounds. Five of the protesters were killed, and dozens more were injured.
Also helicopters were used on Wednesday, and Police fired live rounds and tear gas at the protesters in Lo Lo Square to disperse them.
The use of live rounds by Saudi and Bahraini soldiers against the pro-democracy protesters has resulted in many people being injured, some of them critically.
The Bahraini people have stage popular protests against the ruling Al-Khalifa monarchy since 14th February, taking their inspiration from earlier popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia.
