The Quranic institute of Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE, plans to organize a summer course on memorization of the Holy Quran.
According to Al-Khaleej daily, the course will be held for children and teenagers between 7 to 18 years of age. In addition to memorization of the Holy Quran, there will be courses on Adhan (call to prayer), photography and reading, as well.
Registration for the Quranic course begins Sunday, June 19, and the course itself is to kick off on July 1.
The course, which is taught by experts from UAE’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, includes lessons on principles of Tajweed and Tarteel recitation of the Quran. It will be organized separately for boys and girls.
According to Tala Al-Mazru’ee, director of the Quranic activities department of the mosque, the course is aimed at identifying Quranic talents and encouraging children and teenagers to get involved in Quranic activities.
Referring to the objectives of the mosque, he said it aims to develop Quranic education, spreading Quranic values and teachings among children and teenagers, and training them in religious, moral, scientific and cultural aspects.
