Int’l Quran Contest Should Be Venue for Development of Quranic Culture

Speaking to the news committee of the contest, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Taqi Rahbar added, “The Nobel Quran is the axis of unity in the Islamic Ummah. It invites the Islamic Ummah to unity, monotheism, purity and amity in order to serve Islam. Therefore, there are no differences about the core of the Quran among Muslim sects.”

He said the Quran has different aspects, one of which being recitation and accurate reading of the verses. “It is every Muslim’s responsibility to read the Divine Book of his faith correctly.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Rahbar noted that the International Quran Competition is an opportunity for identifying talents and for the participants to vie for reading, reciting and memorizing the Quran better.

“The competition plays a significant role in bolstering Islamic unity because its theme is the Quran and the Quran is the axis of unity of all Muslims.”

“Today, we are in need of understanding and acting upojn the teachings of the Holy Book. In every country, the elite ought to do their best to comprehend the Quran, implement its teachings and urge governments to acting upon the Quran and upholding justice,” Isfahan representative in the Majlis (parliament) opined.

He, however, warned that holding competitions per se is not enough. “It is not appropriate to read the Quran and at the same time extend hands of friendship to the Global Arrogance. The Noble Quran has teachings for all cultural, political, economic, and social aspects of human life, especially the life of Muslims, and it is upon Muslims to act upon these teachings.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Rahbar went on to say that the Majlis has a fraction titled Quran and Etrat (AS) and pays special attention to issues related to the Quran and Etrat (AS).
