Azerbaijani Muslims are urged not to knife animals in public places on Eid al-Adha

The Muslim Administration of Caucuses urges the believers to observe norms of decency when offering sacrifice on Eid al-Adha on November 6.

"Fulfilling the rite of sacrificial offering on these holy festival days we advise to carry it out in strict compliance with sanitary norms and at special places, abstaining from performing it in public and with children looking," spiritual leaders of the Administration said in their fatwa handed over to Interfax-Religion.

The document mentions that the animal which will be sacrificed should be "healthy and fattened."

November 6 and 7 are announced days-off in Azerbaijan.
