According to executive secretary of the event "Some 40 countries will take part in the Second Meeting of the Islamic World Publishers slated for November 12-13".
Amir Abbas Taqipour added that some 500 publishers from 40 Asian, European, African and South American countries are expected to take part in the cultural event.
Over 80 researchers and scholars of the field would also attend the event.
Holding five specialized meetings to be attended by Iranian and foreign publishers is among the main programs of the event, he said.
Taqipour also said that the objective behind the meeting is to promote guild interaction among Muslim publishers.
According to the statement of the first edition of the summit attended by 32 countries, it was agreed to establish World Union of Muslim Publishers. Its article of association has been drafted and it will be ratified during the upcoming meeting, he said.
Secretary of the conference’s international committee, Arsalan Qorbani, also said: Union of Islamic World Publishers as an independent movement that seeks to make use of the potentials of governmental and private publishers.
