The second session of the Catholic-Muslim Forum has kicked off yesterday morning at the Convention Center in Al Maghtas (Baptism Site), south of the Jordanian capital Amman.
The function is being done at the invitation of the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, and with the participation of a host of religious leaders and international academic and intellectual figures interested in issues of dialogue among cultures, civilizations and followers of religions.
ISESCO is represented in the Forum by its Director General, Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.
The Forum, held under the theme “Reason, Faith and Mankind”, will discuss issues pertaining to these three sub-themes.
During this morning’s working session devoted to the sub-theme of “Reason”, Dr Ibrahim Kalin presented a paper on “Reason and Rational Thinking in the Holy Quran” and Dr Possenti presented another one, which were discussed by the participants.
The opening of the Forum was marked by the Duaa performed by Sheikh Al Habib Oma bin Hafid, the address of Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Head of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, and the welcome address of Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran.
