"This is blatant violation of human rights and the international conventions committed by US troops burning copies of the Holy Book and hurting sentiments of Muslims worldwide," the ministry said in its statement on Sunday.
The statement added that disrespect for religious beliefs of Muslims stem from false understanding of the Afghan people's culture and religious beliefs of the Muslims worldwide.
"This is not the first time that the International Conventions have been violated by American and NATO troops. Repetition of such satanic behavior emanating from the arrogant nature of the US will bring worldwide indignation and hatred for the US," the statement added.
The statement further stressed that the only way to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan is the immediate pull-out of the foreign military forces.
At least 25 people have been killed and hundreds wounded since last Tuesday, when it first emerged that copies of Quran and religious materials had been thrown into a fire pit used to burn garbage at Bagram Air Field.
