Regime forces attack Bahraini protesters

Al-Samadi, 22, was reportedly shot and killed by regime forces in the village of Salmabad outside the capital, Manama, during a protest on Friday.

According to activists, regime forces on Friday continued the crackdown, attacking protesters around the capital Manama and injuring several people in different areas.

Saudi-backed Bahraini forces have killed scores of people and arrested many more for participating in anti-regime protests that erupted in mid-February 2011.

Bahraini troops, who heavily rely on tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protesters. Several Bahraini civilians, mostly senior citizens and children, have died due to asphyxia as a result of inhaling the toxic tear gas.

Bahraini demonstrators hold King Hamad Al Khalifa responsible for the deaths of the people during the popular uprising in the country.
