--An interfaith conference opened in Krakow, southern Poland, on Monday with the presence of representatives of religions, world leaders and cultural and scientific figures. According to Reuters Arabic, the three-day international meeting has been organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, aiming at investigating the status of peace in the world . On the first day of the conference, attended by a number of Christian bishops, Jewish leaders and Muslim scholars, Pope Benedict's message was read. Known as the city of churches, Krakow is one of the largest and oldest cities in the south of Poland and a popular tourist destination. |
