The Kashmir has the highest rate of unemployment in northern part of India, so far the government has registered lakhs of unemployed youths, in which there is also a great number of Shia youths.
The Shia population of Kashmir is generally a minority population so the purpose they cannot get well attention from government to get jobs. Mostly poor population of Shias cannot afford huge sum of money to get a job in government sector, as agents demand.
Most Shia youths are well educated but still away from the job. The government is not doing well for the upliftment of the Shias, which generally is the main cause of poverty and unemployment among Shias.
Generally there are some Shia youths which are doing job in private sector but they don't get well pay, they only earn 20 to 25 dollars per month, which is equal to nothing for a youth who has the family load on his head.
"I had given 2 lakh Rupees to the agent which I took loan from a bank, but later he refused and then told me that there is no job in government sector" said Sajjad khan, a small Shia shopkeeper, who are not satisfied with his daily earning wage.
The government has started voluntary schemes to give chance to youth to establish their private business but this is a long process. Most of the Shia youths had taken loan from banks because of their unemployment but it ends their life to pay back the loan and its interest to the bank. The Shia youths because of unemployed had given rise to the crime in their minds and society, which is a deep matter of concern.
