The Islamic Christian Forum will hold its second meeting on Monday and extends for two days with participation from over 300 delegates, both Christian and Muslim, from inside and outside the country, under the slogan of "the Role of the Spiritual Values in Cementing National unity". |
The Forum which will be under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omar Al Bashir, aims at crystallizing a unified vision on the role of the spiritual value in cementing national Dr Azahari Al-Tigani, Minister of Guidance and Endowment, said the Forum will tackle a number axis including the National Unity from an Islamic and a spiritual perspective, the role of the religious message in boosting and cementing National Unity, while another axis will center of the role of the church in the interaction with the national questions in the country and the last axis will focus on the experience of countries with similar situation of religious and ethnic and cultural diversity as the case of the Sudan He said the conferees will listen to papers from experts from the United Sates of America, Nigeria, Malaysia, Jordan and Ethiopia, as well as the experience of South Africa. The Minister said the conference comes within the context of the state's concern with the religious voice and how it could contribute in cementing the National Unity, voluntarily and peacefully without cohesion. On his part the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Guidance and Endowment, Abu Bakar Deng, said all preparations have been completed for the convening of the forum. End item/109
