More than 400,000 liters of diesel fuel have leaked into the Elbe River in Germany after two ships collided.
Peter Braun of Hamburg firefighters said that more than 100 people were working to stop the spread of the oil slick that was running for kilometers down the river. Apparently, the oil slick doesn't pose any threat to people, but authorities said that it was still too early to tell how it would affect the environment, AP reported. An investigation has been launched into the incident after the ships collided early on Wednesday. The cause of the incident is not immediately known.
