Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi blasted the Grand Imam of Makkah who called for war against Iran and all Shi’ite Muslims over Iran’s alleged role in support of Yemen’s Ansarullah (Houthi) movement.
At the beginning of his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom’s Masjid al-A’dham (Grand Mosque), Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi referred to the recent insult by the Grand Imam of Makkah’s Masjid al-Haram, Abdul-Rahman al-Sudays, who called for all out war against Shi’ites and Iranians, calling them all “infidels.”
He emphasized that the Saudi act of “takfir” (considering others infidels) comes less than three weeks after they held a conference about the threat of Takfirism. He stressed that the Takfiri scholars’ call for war against Shi’ites have been issued from one of the most holiest places for all Muslims, adding that this irreverent act is proof of the corruption of their ideology for the entire world.
“Our war with Iran – say that out loud – is a war between Sunnis and Shi’ites,” the Saudi Wahhabi preacher said in a seven-minute audio clip posted online, “Our disagreement with the rafidhah (rejectors) will not be removed, nor our suicide bombings to fight them... as long as they are on the face of the earth...”
Ayatollah Makarem explained that these Takfiris and Wahhabis have destroyed several Islamic countries. Iran, the Yemeni people and all Shi’ites have said that the issue of Yemen can be solved politically and according to the will of the people but the Saudis are still bombing Yemen!
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi added that after the appearance of the Takfiri phenomenon, consisting of groups such as ISIL, the al-Nusrah Front and al-Qaedah, and the crimes they committed, it has become increasingly obvious that the school of thought of Takfirism is contrary to reason, the Holy Quran [true] Islam.
His Eminence also criticized the Takfiri destruction of Syria, stating that they are bombing the country and committing atrocities against the people there [in an attempt to overthrow the government of Bashir al-Asad] against the Syrian peoples’ wishes. Then they say that Iran is to blame for the situation in Syria.
He asked “Don’t the Iraqis, Yemenis and Syrians have a right to defend their countries? The Yemenis have stated that they’re ready to sit down for negotiations to form an inclusive government, but the Saudi Grand Mufti says bombing and attacking Yemen is wiser than dialogue. Is wrecking havoc on another country in accordance with wisdom?!”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi noted that these Wahhabis have lived in the world of illusion and their investment is in lies and slander. They claim that Iran wants to conquer Makkah and Madinah. The unprecedented scandal which occurred at Jeddah’s airport is sufficient [proof] for all.
