Greatness of Quran is surprising in Iran: Senegal contestant

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - The participant from Senegal called the launch of Iran’s 32nd International Quran Contest a symbol of Muslims’ unity and convergence.

According to the news staff at the International Quran Contest, the 25-year-old Ibrahim Youf, first timer at the competition, said that he began learning and memorizing Quran in his early childhood.

“I used to go to the mosque with my parents when I was younger and there I became interested in learning the Quran.”

Youf, who barely speaks English and Arabic, said contestants have a tough competition ahead because they are well prepared.

Youf, a college student, called Iran a very beautiful country and said, “Before coming to Iran I had only heard tales about the country, but during my stay in Iran I was taken aback to see the greatness of Quran in Iran.”

On the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran Youf said, “I knew Imam Khomeini and to me he was a great leader in the Islamic world. May he rest in peace.”
