Iran: 500 Quran Recitation Sessions Planned for Ramadan

500 Quran recitation sessions are planned to be held across the country during the holy month of Ramadan, a Quranic official said. Vali Yarahmadi, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, said a number of Egyptian Qaris will take part in some of these Quranic programs.

500 Quran recitation sessions are planned to be held across the country during the holy month of Ramadan, a Quranic official said.

Vali Yarahmadi, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, said a number of Egyptian Qaris will take part in some of these Quranic programs.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he added that 9 Egyptian reciters have been invited to Iran and that they will take part in Quranic programs from the seventh to 24th day of Ramadan.

He described the presence of Egyptian Quranic figures in Iran as important at a time when the enemies are making attempts to foment discord between Iranian and Egyptian Quranic communities.

The official added that Mahmoud Shahat Anwar, Ahmed Shahat Ahmed Lashin, Adil al-Baz amd Ali Mahmoud al-Shamis are among the reciters invited from Egypt to be in Iran during Ramadan.

According to Yarahmadi, the Quranic sessions will be held in mosques, religious centers and holy sites across the country.

Elsewhere in his remarks, head of the Awqaf Organization's Quranic affairs center referred to the international Quran competition of Malaysia and said international Quranic events are venues for enhancing Islamic unity.
