At least 15 Yemeni civilians have lost their lives in the latest Saudi airstrikes as the Arab kingdom continues military aggression against its impoverished southern neighbor.

Some 12 people, including 6 children, were killed in Saudi air raids on Sadr village in the northwestern Yemeni province of Sa'ada on Monday, the country's al-Masirah television reported.

Earlier in the day, Saudi fighter jets pounded various areas across the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, killing at least three.

Saudi warplanes also bombarded government buildings in the northern Yemeni province of Jawf.

Moreover, two Yemeni civilians sustained injuries in Saudi airstrikes on the town of Herz in the northwestern province of Hajjah.

Two residential areas in the northern province of Amran were also targeted by Saudi warplanes.

Saudi Arabia launched its air aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to the country’s fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

On July 15, Rupert Colville, the spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said more than 3,800 people have been killed in Yemen since March 26. Some local sources, however, put the death toll at 4,500.
