Ahlul Bayt News Agency - KARACHI: A mechanic who was also a member of Hussaini Scouts was shot dead in an attack in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Monday evening, according to Sharea Faisal police.
Police said that Shiite Muslim, Syed Zakir Husain, 36, was on his way home after closing the workshop when two armed motorcyclists attacked him near Asia Restaurant in Pehlwan Goth and fled.
He sustained critical injuries and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors declared him dead on arrival, said police.
“The motive for the murder appeared to be sectarian since the victim was also a member of Hussaini Scouts,” said Karachi-East SSP Javed Jiskani. He said that an inquiry team had been formed under the Gulshan SP to ascertain exact motive for the killing.
