The Islamic Center of England in London plans to hold a mourning ceremony on the occasion of Arbaeen (the 40th day after Ashura) on December 1.
According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the ceremony is a part of programs to be organized by the center to commemorate the last ten days of the lunar month of Safar.
Mourning ceremonies on the departure anniversary of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH and his progeny) and the martyrdom of the prophet’s elder grandson and the second infallible successor to the prophet, Imam Hassan (AS) and the 8th infallible successor to the prophet, Imam Reza (AS) are among the programs of the center to be held on December 10 and 11.
The programs will begin from 8 p.m. local time at the center.
Every year millions of Shia Muslims from all over the world march to the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, to commemorate Arba’een (the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), his household and his companions on Ashura in the year 680 AD).
