German police arrested two Algerian nationals during search operations in Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia Thursday for a group of four men suspected of having links to ISIS terrorist group, local media reported.

According to media reports, the raids targeted "four people from the jihadist scene," believed to be intending to organize a serious violent act.

One of the detained men lives in the North Rhine-Westphalia and has undergone militarily training in Syria.

The second Algerian was arrested for having falsified identification documents.

It was noted that during the raids a woman, who had been wanted in connection to another case, was also arrested.

Germany, which is part of the international coalition operating in Syria and Iraq, has not been targeted by terrorists to date. It has enhanced its security measures and conducted several anti-terror raids in the wake of the Paris attacks that killed 130 people in mid-November.
