Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, attended the “International Congress of Economic Relations, Developing in Health Field with the Focus on Islamic Countries” saying that holding such conventions is based on unity, efforts for development and also cooperation all of which are the biggest missions of Muslims across the globe.
He detailed on the three missions for Muslims saying,” The first mission is unity, convergence and solidarity which are both a mission of God Almighty and an obligation of logic.”
Secretary General of the World Forum referred to Qur’an verses on necessity of Islamic unity and noted an objective of the conference is boosting unity and launching programs for cooperation in the fields of technology and sciences in the world of Islam.”
Ayatollah Araki said,” The second mission highlighted in the holy book of Islam is that Muslims should work hard and achieve ascendance in all fields because any weakness and imperfection will lead to inferiority of Muslims against enemies.”
The cleric stressed that an Islamic society should be one which develops in all fields hence, in the fields of economy and science, it is a mission that we make developments and improvement becomes an objective for us.
Ayatollah Araki added,” The third responsibility is cooperation and this cooperation should be in line with beneficence and not in line with oppression or guilt.”
Shia scholar expressed regret and rejected some coalitions formed across the world of Islam which aims oppressing other Muslims saying,” Coalition for serving humanity and for charity is confirmed by Islam; hence, Muslims should join each other to meet the demands of their Islamic community.”
“International Congress of Economic Relations, Developing in Health Field with the Focus on Islamic Countries” is held in the Iranian capital of Tehran on 20-22 February, 2016.
