With the third round of Islam-Christianity interreligious dialogues coming to an end, a press conference was held in Qom.
Nikolay Ekimesko, Head of the faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest University spoke during the conference, “In the first meeting in Iran I realized Shia Doctrine has great potential in terms of interreligious discussions and interactions, in fact there’s no misunderstanding between us, rather we have so much in common,”
“The only way to reach worldwide peace is through dialogue between religions which is in fact our motivation for taking part in these series of discussion, we’re living in a world where there’s so much variety,” he added.
In another part of the press conference, Petronio Flora, the grand archbishop of Romanian Church expressed, “I didn’t bear any imagination in my mind regarding my participation in Islam-Christianity dialogues up until three weeks ago, but after taking part in the discussions I realized such dialogues could be very productive and I’m glad I could be a part of it,”
“Out of my so many feelings of being in Iran, I feel that religious matters hadn’t caused any separation between our religions, rather I’ve had a great impression of being in Iran and it feels like home to home,” he said.
Hojjat-al-Islam Hussein Malek Afzali also made some remarks during the press conference, he said, “The message of this meeting to pro-terrorism leaders and governments and pro-Takfiri movements is, the original Islamic and Christian teachings forbid extremism and the support of such cruel actions, so divine religions invite all human beings to peace, friendship and justice,”
