-- Having completed Hajj ceremonies in the holy city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the first group of Iranian Hajj pilgrims will set off for Medina to visit the holy Prophet's (PBUH) mausoleum and pay homage to the Household buried in the Baqia Cemetery.
"9,000 pilgrims will go to Medina by bus tomorrow while around 3,600 hajjis, will depart for Iran in the early hours of Wednesday," Abdullah Nasiri, public relations officer of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Orgnaization said on Monday.
He added all Iranian hajjis, numbered about 65,000, will return to Iran by two International carriers, the Iran Air and Saudi Airlines.
As many as 2.5 million Muslims from around the word attended the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year.
The Major Hajj is one of the key acts of devotion in Islam which must be undertaken once in lifetime by any able-bodied Muslim who can financially afford it.
