The international US-led coalition fighting against Daesh terrorist group has notified the Iraqi army that media reports claiming that Daesh's leader Abu Bakr Baghdadi was killed are not correct and have not been verified, an army spokesperson reported on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, media reports emerged claiming that Baghdadi was killed in a US airstrike in Daesh's self-proclaimed capital of Raqqa, Syria.
"The reports of Baghdadi’s elimination are inaccurate, I personally sent a message to the international coalition’s press service and they responded saying that it was not yet confirmed," the spokesperson said.
