The commander of the faithful, Imam Ali (PBUH) explained the real meaning of life and death regarding the importance of knowledge and education in a narration, the text of this Hadith is quoted from Ghurar al hikam book:
الْعَالِمُ حَيٌّ وَ إِنْ كَانَ مَيِّتاً الْجَاهِلُ مَيِّتٌ وَ إِنْ كَانَ حَيّاً
Imam Ali (PBUH) said: The knowledgeable people are everlasting regardless of their physical demise; however the ignorant have no difference with the dead although they seem to be alive.
