It is incumbent upon every individual who is financially affluent to help the jihadists and jihad to the extent that they are able to so that the war against enemies culminates in victory. Failing to donate financially will pave the way for Muslims to confront failure in war which this failure is interpreted to perdition by the verse under discussion.
The reason for donation at the end of the rulings of jihad is for the continuous and public help which is the basis and source of Jihad since it brings about the cooperation and unity of the people and internal forces within the community and provides the equipments and armaments of the army. Furthermore, donation in the way of Allah is the origin of work and movement and it causes disclosing of talents and getting rid of interests and leads to the jihad fields, while stinginess, attachment to belongings brings about intellectual stagnation, dormancy of talents and incapability and weakness of volition as well as contempt and abjection. If you avoid donating you will face perdition and death and you should not be the cause for own perdition (do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]). One who accumulates wealth and properties and avoids donating just reckons that the properties and wealth make them perpetual:” thinking his wealth will render him immortal! (1) “
Not being the cause for one’s perdition (لا تُلْقُوا) or (do not throw) may mean prohibiting from excessive donation so as to prevent destitution and perdition, (احسنوا)which means do good and help may completes (أَنْفِقُوا) which means be generous and donate since beneficence is both financial and nonfinancial helping and the meaning of beneficence is to do the work and the responsibility the best way possible. By referring and using the above mentioned verse it is concluded that spending the properties and wealth regarding war, strengthening the Muslims to combat the enemies is an obligatory (wajeb)act and abandoning that brings about people’s destruction and perdition as well as disorganization both in the government and the Muslims lifestyles.
