One of the corrupting effects of vanity and selfishness is to undermine sins; rather the arrogant human being never tries to purify his/her own soul, and considers himself/herself to be clean and pure. And such a person never thinks about purifying himself/herself from impurities of sins. The veil of vanity and selfishness prevents the human being from seeing his/her own badness, and this is a misfortune which prevents the human being from accomplishments, and afflict him/her to all sorts of inadequacies (in life) [1].
